Cosmetic Surgery
Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a rejuvenating cosmetic procedure that addresses sagging upper eyelids, puffy under-eye bags, and excess skin around the eyes. The eyes are often the first area of the face to show signs of aging, and heavy or drooping eyelids can make you look tired, older, or even obstruct your peripheral vision. At Amit Aesthetics in Aligarh, Dr. Amit Agrawal performs blepharoplasty using refined surgical techniques that restore a naturally alert and youthful appearance to the eye area.
Two primary methods are employed depending on your specific concerns. Traditional blepharoplasty involves an incision made within the natural crease of the upper eyelid or just below the lash line of the lower eyelid. Through this incision, excess skin, protruding fat pads, and lax muscle are precisely removed or repositioned. The transconjunctival approach — used primarily for lower eyelid surgery — places the incision inside the eyelid, leaving absolutely no visible external scar. This technique is ideal for younger patients who have puffy lower lids but minimal excess skin.
For patients who are not ready for surgery or who have mild early changes, non-surgical alternatives such as radiofrequency skin tightening and Botox injections around the crow's feet may be considered. However, for moderate to significant eyelid sagging and fat herniation, blepharoplasty remains the gold-standard treatment with highly predictable, long-lasting results.

Recovery & Aftercare
After blepharoplasty, cold compresses are applied to minimize swelling. Bruising and swelling around the eyes are expected and typically peak at 2–3 days before progressively improving. Most patients feel comfortable appearing in public within 7–10 days. Sutures are removed at 5–7 days. Eye drops and ointment may be prescribed to keep the eyes comfortable. Contact lenses can be resumed after 2 weeks. The final result becomes apparent within 2–3 months as all residual swelling settles.
