Corn & Wart Removal Treatment
Corns and warts are common skin conditions that, while not usually dangerous, can cause significant discomfort, embarrassment, and frustration — especially when they resist home treatments. At Amit Aesthetics in Aligarh, we offer professional dermatological treatment for both conditions, using advanced techniques that provide faster, more complete resolution than over-the-counter remedies.
Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which infects the top layer of skin through tiny cuts or breaks. There are five main types: filiform warts (finger-like projections, commonly on the face and neck), common warts (rough, raised bumps typically on hands and fingers), plantar warts (flat, hard growths on the soles of the feet that can be painful when walking), flat warts (small, smooth, flat-topped lesions that often appear in clusters on the face or legs), and periungual warts (rough, irregular growths around the fingernails and toenails). Warts are contagious and can spread through direct contact or shared surfaces, making prompt treatment important.
Corns develop from repeated friction and pressure — typically on the feet from ill-fitting shoes — and consist of hardened, thickened areas of skin with a central core that can press on underlying nerves, causing pain. Our treatment options for both conditions include cryotherapy (freezing with liquid nitrogen), electrocautery (heat-based removal), laser ablation for resistant or deep lesions, topical treatments with salicylic acid or other keratolytic agents, and surgical excision for large or deeply rooted lesions. Dr. Agrawal selects the most appropriate technique based on the type, location, size, and number of lesions. We also provide guidance on prevention, including proper footwear, foot care, and measures to avoid HPV transmission.
